The courses use materials developed by NIACE and LLU+ as required by UKBA. These materials have been supplemented with further appropriate ESOL materials to enable the student to cope with situations they may be confronted with in their future life in the United Kingdom.

The aim of these courses is to help learners develop their knowledge of life in the UK; encourage them to become more active citizens and support applications for citizenship and settlement.

THE COURSE

The course consists of 10 hours of study each week for 4 weeks. To complete the course you must attend all the classes. At the end of your 40 hours you will take part in an assessment conducted by the English Speaking Board. This is a speaking and listening assessment which lasts for about an hour and is conducted in groups of 4, 5 or 6.

WHAT WILL YOU GET?

If you have been successful in your final assessment, you will receive a certificate from ESB. Along with this you will receive a letter from us confirming that you have fulfilled all Home Office requirements. The certificate and letter are normally available within 3 weeks of completing the course.
